Klima Drainage is an LICA Iowa Chapter Member, located in Center Point, Iowa, owned by Doug Klima. It is a family business that has been operating for thirty years. They install drainage tile and also horizontal directional boring. Doug's grandfather, Ed Klima, lived in rural Center Point and began laying clay tile in fields. He dug and laid 100 feet of clay tiles by hand per day, two spades deep. Marvin (Mike) Klima, Doug's dad, started Klima & Sons in 1961. His wife Maudie and their ten children were all involved in the business in one way or another. Doug bought into the business in the 1970s. Today, Doug's son, Michael Klima, runs a laser grade controlled plow which installs 40,000 feet of plastic tile a day.
